WASHINGTON’S LOTTERY KICKS OFF 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION WITH NEW SCRATCH GAME

30th Anniversary Scratch ticket thanks players with an 80 percent payout - the highest Scratch payout in Washington’s Lottery history

OLYMPIA: Washington’s Lottery kicks off its 30th Anniversary celebration today with the launch of a new 30th Anniversary Scratch game. The $5 ticket with an 80 percent payout – the highest in Washington’s Lottery history – celebrates three decades of Lottery in Washington and thanks players for 30 great years by offering five top prizes of $50,000 and a total of $6.2 million in cash prizes. The special Scratch tickets are available now through Washington’s Lottery’s official anniversary date on November 15, until all tickets are sold.

“Since 1982 Washington’s Lottery and players across the state have had fun, dreamed big and helped Washington State,” said Bill Hanson, Director of Washington’s Lottery. “A ticket with this level of payout – the highest Scratch payout in Washington’s Lottery history -is our way of thanking our players for 30 great years.”

The launch of the 30thAnniversary Scratch ticket marks the beginning of six months of activities to show gratitude toward players, retailers, and beneficiaries that have helped make Washington’s Lottery successful for three decades. Since its inception, Washington’s Lottery has awarded more than $6 billion in prizes, given more than $3 billion back to the state, and helped hundreds of thousands of people have fun and imagine bigger.

Washington’s Lottery will continue Anniversary celebrations with the “Design a Scratch Ticket” contest in August that gives players the opportunity to design their own Scratch ticket and compete to have it printed. The contest, along with pictures and profiles of Lottery’s rich history will be on display with new content added each month through November at www.walottery.com/anniversary.

The 30thAnniversary Scratch tickets will sell for $5 and will be available at all 3,793 retailers across the state. The ticket features prize levels of $5, $10, $15, $20, $30, $50, $100, $500 and $50,000. To find a local Washington’s Lottery retailer visit www.walottery.com/WhereToPlay.
