LOPEZ ISLAND BARBER SHOPS FOR NEW HOME WITH $150,000 HIT 5 CASHPOT

Ron Multanen, known to the Lopez Island community as “the Barber in the Ville,” is the area’s most recent Lottery winner after scoring $150,000 from a Hit 5 ticket he purchased from the Southend General Store and Restaurant (3024 Mud Bay Rd, Lopez Island, WA 98261).

“I truly cannot believe the timing of this win,” said Multanen. A week before he won the $150,000 Hit 5 Cashpot, Multanen found out he needed to move. “My roommate decided to sell our house,” said Multanen. “This win will go toward finding me a more permanent living arrangement!”

Multanen told Washington’s Lottery officials his living situation isn’t the only thing his prize money will finance. While on his way to the Washington’s Lottery Everett Regional Office to claim his prize, Multanen’s older car broke down on the side of the highway. He also plans to use his Hit 5 winnings to replace his car.
