Washington’s Lottery Announces “Luckiest Stores” On the Olympic Peninsula

OLYMPIA – With St. Patrick’s Day upon us, Washington’s Lottery is sharing its “Luckiest Stores” – retail locations that have sold the most Scratch tickets with prizes worth $1,000 or more in the previous calendar year. Washington’s Lottery has released a “Luckiest Stores” list for six regions around the state: Tri-Cities, Puget Sound, Olympic Peninsula, Eastern Washington, Southwest Washington, and Central Washington.

With seven big Scratch wins in 2017, the Fred Meyer located at 301 E Wallace Kneeland Blvd tops the list of “Luckiest Stores” on the Olympic Peninsula.

The top 10 “Luckiest Stores” around the Olympic Peninsula are:

  • Seven Big Wins: Fred Meyer at 301 E Wallace Kneeland Blvd in Shelton
  • Six Big Wins: Fred Meyer at 5050 State Highway 303 NE Bremerton
  • Six Big Wins: Safeway at 3215 Harrison Ave NW in Olympia
  • Five Big Wins: Safeway at 680 W Washington St in Sequim
  • Five Big Wins: Albertson’s at 1434 Olney St SE in Port Orchard
  • Four Big Wins: Bremerton Chevron at 6835 State Highway 303 NE in Bremerton
  • Four Big Wins: Safeway at 1401 NE McWilliams Rd in Bremerton
  • Four Big Wins: Agate Store at 3841 E Agate Rd in Shelton
  • Four Big Wins: Ocean Shores IGA at 101 E Chance A La Mer NE in Ocean Shores

When winners from the Olympic Peninsula Region were asked how they plan to spend the money, here is what they shared:

  • “My dad passed away a year ago, so my aunt and I are going to use the prize money to go to lunch and celebrate his life. He’d be so excited about this win,” said the Port Orchard resident. In addition to the special lunch, the winner also shared that she planned to use a portion to help buy a home in Port Orchard.
  • “My daughter-in-law is retiring from the Navy after 22 years of service and we’re going to Honolulu for her ceremony,” said the Poulsbo resident. “This prize money will help us make her celebration extra special, especially since we’re still in the planning phase.”
