A woman from Enumclaw is celebrating an $80,000 lottery win from a recent Hit 5 drawing. The winner purchased her ticket for the June 9 drawing from the Enumclaw QFC (1009 Monroe AVE)
“When I first purchased the ticket, I was out of town, so I just glanced at the numbers and thought there is no way that I actually won,” the winner shared. “When I got home, I checked my numbers and still couldn’t believe it.”
The winner told lottery officials the first person she told was her husband, who thought she was teasing him. The winner also shared that when she plays Powerball or Hit5, the numbers she uses are a special combinations of family birthdays.
“Once the numbers had been confirmed, the first thought I had was, ‘Man, I’m glad I decided to play that day because my numbers finally paid off,’” she shared.
The winner plans to use the winnings to the purchase the family an RV so that they can take a cross-country road trip to visit the remaining states on their bucket list. The remaining money will be used to pay off her car and put some into savings.
