GOLD BAR RESIDENT PLANS TO STOCK HER LOCAL FOOD BANK AFTER $50,000 SCRATCH WIN

Elizhava Lazella walked into the Gold Bar Market (109 Croft Ave W, Gold Bar, WA 98251) on Saturday, August 20 to pick up an ice cream sandwich when she decided to purchase a “Frogger” Scratch ticket. When she returned home that night, she scratched her ticket to find she was a $50,000 winner.

“I’m still in shock,” said Lazella. “I was about to walk out of the store until the ‘Frogger’ game caught my eye. When I found out I won, I couldn’t believe it! I even took my ticket back into the store to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.”

Lazella told Washington’s Lottery officials she plans to call the local food bank when she gets home to find out what they’re short of and how she can use her winnings help support their food programs.

“I think it’s important to do a good deed every day – big or small,” said Lazella. “I’ve been wanting to do something big for a while now, but didn’t have the money. Now, I can afford to give back to my community and help those around me.”

Lazella also plans to give some of her prize money to the man who sold her the winning ticket. Then, she plans to pay off some bills and put the remaining money in the bank.
