A man from Kirkland is ready to go car shopping after winning $50,000 from the Powerball drawing on Saturday, October 29. The winner purchased his ticket earlier that day at a local 7-Eleven (11613 124th Ave NE Kirkland, WA 98034).
“I’ve been wanting to trade in my old car for a while now,” said the winner. “I think I want a new Volkswagen, but I’ll probably shop around a little bit first.”
The winner told Washington’s Lottery officials he’s also planning to use his prize money to pay off some bills, then save the rest for a rainy day.
Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
