SPANAWAY MAN TO SURPRISE DAUGHTER WITH NEW CAR AFTER $50,000 POWERBALL WIN

Spanaway resident Carlos Trejo has a big surprise in store for his daughter after winning $50,000 from the Powerball drawing on November 5. Trejo was making his usual stop at a Tacoma Chevron (11122 Steele St S, Tacoma, WA 98499) on his way home from work when he decided to purchase the ticket.

“I joke with my wife a lot,” said Trejo. “So when I told her I won, she thought I was playing around until I showed her proof!”

Trejo told Washington’s Lottery officials his eldest daughter has been asking for a new car for a while now, so he’s going to start looking for a Toyota Corolla to surprise her.

He also plans to use his winnings to pay off some bills and take his family out to a celebratory dinner at one of their favorite Mexican restaurants.

Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
