EDMONDS RESIDENT TO DONATE LOTTERY WIN TO LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY

Edmonds resident Michael Moore is giving back this holiday season by donating a portion of his $50,000 Powerball win to the Humane Society, a local organization near and dear to his heart. Moore purchased his winning ticket from 7-Eleven (8101 238th St SW, Edmonds, WA 98026) for the Powerball drawing on Saturday, December 17.

“This is truly an incredible holiday surprise that came at just the right time,” said Moore. “While I’m excited about the win, I’m more appreciative of the fact that Washington’s Lottery gives me the opportunity to dream big.”

Moore has a few dachshunds that have become part of his family and told Washington’s Lottery officials he plans to help out other dogs in need. He also plans to use his prize money to lend a hand to a few friends this holiday season, while saving the remainder of his winnings for a trip to Maui.

“I haven’t taken a vacation for seven years,” said Moore. “I’ve been to Maui a few times in the past and absolutely loved it, which is why I plan to return soon!”

Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
