Great-Grandparents Are Washington's Latest Multi-Millionaires!
OLYMPIA: Loren and Donna Hafer of Chewelah, Wash. received their $11 million check yesterday. The parents of six, grandparents of 10 and great-grandparents of five could hardly believe it when they found out they won an amount that tied for the largest Lotto jackpot since the game was restructured in 2006!
“We started playing Lotto when the jackpot got high,” explained Donna Hafer. “We had never won anything before in our lives!”
Loren is an 84-year-old retired Lynden Transport employee, and Donna is a 74-year-old retired casino employee. When asked what they plan to do with their money, Loren replied, “Find the best pickup truck in town!”
“The first person we told about our big win was our son,” said Donna. “He thought I was kidding and checked the numbers himself!”
Donna and Loren go to the Safeway where they purchased their winning ticket at least three times a week. The store located on West Colville Avenue in Chewelah will receive retail selling bonus of $110,000.
