MOUNT VERNON WOMAN IS CELEBRATING A SCRATCH WIN OF $200,000; SEARCH FOR NEW A HOME BEGINS

A woman from Mount Vernon is celebrating a $200,000 win after playing “Holiday Countdown” Scratch. She purchased her ticket during the holiday season from the Haggen’s in Mount Vernon (2601 E Davidson St).

“When I first scratched the ticket, I was excited because I thought I won $200, but once I realized it was actually $200,000 I couldn’t even believe it was real.”

The woman told lottery officials that she enjoys playing Scratch and typically likes to choose a different game each time. She says that she was drawn to this game in particular because it was a much bigger ticket than all of the other games so it caught her eye.

The winner plans to celebrate by putting her money directly into savings so that she can start looking for houses.

Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
