From a peppermint-scented ticket to another that offers a separate play area on the back where players can scratch for more chances to win, Washington’s Lottery is offering six new holiday-themed Scratch games this winter
Olympia, WA (November 14, 2022) – Washington’s Lottery announces the launch of five new holiday-themed Scratch games, giving players the chance to win more than $24 million in offered prizes. A sixth game will be launching on December 12.
Perhaps the most notable – or at least noticeable due to its distinctive aroma – is the peppermint-scented Scratch game called Peppermint Payout. This $5 ticket features a top prize of $50,000 and is played by matching your row of numbers to the corresponding numbers in each of the six rows and win a prize shown for that row. Peppermint Payout is available now at lottery retailers across the state.
Another unique game that Washington’s Lottery also just introduced is Merry Multiplier, a $20 ticket with a top prize of $500,000, that has a separate play area on the back of the ticket that gives players a chance to win additional prizes.
The other holiday games include: $10-Snow Much Fun, $1-Holiday Cash and $1-Festive $50. A sixth game, $1-Hello Winter, debuts December 12.
Washington’s Lottery offers Scratch games priced between $1 and $30, each with varying prize amounts. The number of actual prizes available in a game may vary based on the number of tickets printed, tested, distributed, sold, and number of prizes claimed.
Once a player wins, they have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize for a draw game ticket. If the player won with a Scratch ticket, they have 180 days from the last day of ticket sales to claim their prize. Scratch game closing procedures will be initiated when all top prizes have been claimed. Scratch game closing procedures may be initiated for documented business reasons. These games may have prizes unclaimed, including top prizes. During closing, games may be sold even after all top prizes have been claimed and/or non-winning second chance promotional drawings have expired. Claims are subject to applicable laws, rules, procedures and final decisions of the Executive Director.\
Washington’s Lottery has regional offices located in Everett, Federal Way, Olympia, Spokane, and Yakima, which are open to the public to claim prizes Mon-Fri from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Washington’s Lottery is encouraging winners with prizes up to $100,000 who cannot travel to one of these locations to mail in their winning tickets to claim their prize. Winners with tickets for $100,000 or more are instructed to call the nearest Lottery office to schedule an appointment to make a safe and secure in-person claim.
Making a Difference in Washington State
Since 1982, Washington’s Lottery has generated more than $4.5 billion to support several important state programs, including providing much-needed funds for the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account (WOPA). In FY21, WOPA received $185.7 million from the Lottery, enough to pay college tuition for more than 18,000 Washington residents. It also provided approximately 25% of the annual budget for the state’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program, which provides critical services to more than 15,000 children at 440 locations across Washington.

Washington’s Lottery is very proud to be a financial supporter of the state’s Early Childhood Education & Assistance Program (ECEAP). The $40 million annual investment the lottery makes in ECEAP has lasting effects. Children who participate in ECEAP are more likely to be kindergarten-ready than non-participants, and those who participate five or more hours per day are especially prepared in reading and math.* Children in state-funded pre-K programs like ECEAP see long-lasting positive effects, including increased grade progression, high school graduation and college enrollment.**
