College Mart in Yakima tops this year’s list with 6 tickets worth $1,000 or more sold in 2022
Olympia, Wash. (March 13, 2023) – The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow may be closer than you think this St. Patrick’s Day. Perhaps it could be at your local Lottery retailer, as today Washington’s Lottery announced its Luckiest Retailers of 2022 for the state’s Central region. These retailers sold the most winning tickets valued at $1,000 or more.
The College Mart at 1106 W Nob Hill Blvd in Yakima tops the Central Region list with six wins. Of the top 10 retailers in the region, Safeway was featured the most with four of its stores making the list, totaling 14 wins altogether.
The top 10 Luckiest Retailers in the Central Region are:
- 6 Wins: College Mart at 1106 W Nob Hill Blvd in Yakima
- Rose from 9th place in 2021 with 4 wins
- 5 Wins: Circle K at 153 Easy St in Wenatchee
- 4 Wins: Safeway at 501 N Miller St in Wenatchee
- Earned 2nd place in 2021 with 8 wins
- 4 Wins: Fred Meyer at 1206 N 40th Ave in Yakima
- 4 Wins: WinCo Foods at 960 N Stratford Rd in Moses Lake
- 4 Wins: Wray’s Meadowbrook at 7200 W Nob Hill Blvd in Yakima
- Made the Top 10 list in both 2021 and 2020
- 4 Wins: Safeway at 116 River Bend Dr in Leavenworth
- 4 Wins: Valley View Market at 618 E Toppenish Ave in Toppenish
- 3 Wins: Safeway at 601 S Pioneer Way in Moses Lake
- 3 Wins: Safeway at 510 Grant Rd in East Wenatchee
Washington’s Lottery recognizes its Luckiest Retailers by dividing the state into seven regions: North Puget Sound, South Puget Sound, Olympic Peninsula, Eastern Washington, Southwest Washington, Tri-Cities and Central Washington. The full list of Luckiest Retailers can be obtained here.
Making a Difference in Washington State
Since 1982, Washington’s Lottery has generated more than $4.5 billion to support several important state programs, including providing much-needed funds for the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account (WOPA). In FY21, WOPA received $185.7 million from the Lottery, enough to pay college tuition for more than 18,000 Washington residents. It also provided approximately 25% of the annual budget for the state’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program, which provides critical services to more than 15,000 children at 440 locations across Washington.

Washington’s Lottery is very proud to be a financial supporter of the state’s Early Childhood Education & Assistance Program (ECEAP). The $40 million annual investment the lottery makes in ECEAP has lasting effects. Children who participate in ECEAP are more likely to be kindergarten-ready than non-participants, and those who participate five or more hours per day are especially prepared in reading and math.* Children in state-funded pre-K programs like ECEAP see long-lasting positive effects, including increased grade progression, high school graduation and college enrollment.**
