Safeway in Richland tops this year’s list with 7 tickets worth $1,000 or more sold in 2022
Olympia, WA (March 13, 2023) – The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow may be closer than you think this St. Patrick’s Day. Perhaps it could be at your local Lottery retailer, as today Washington’s Lottery announced its Luckiest Retailers of 2022 for the state’s Tri-Cities region. These retailers sold the most winning tickets valued at $1,000 or more.
The Safeway at 1803 George Washington Way in Richland tops the Tri-Cities list with seven wins. Of the top 10 retailers in the region, Circle K was featured the most with three of its stores making the list, totaling 13 wins altogether.
The top 10 Luckiest Retailers in the Tri-Cities Region are:
- 7 Wins: Safeway at 1803 George Washington Way in Richland
- 6 Wins: Yoke’s Fresh Market at 4905 N Road 68 in Pasco
- Finished 1st in 2021 with 12 wins
- 5 Wins: Fred Meyer at 2811 W 10th Ave in Kennewick
- Made the Top 10 list in both 2021 and 2020
- 5 Wins: WinCo Foods at 101 Columbia Point Dr in Richland
- 5 Wins: Circle K at 4823 Broadmoor Blvd in Pasco
- Made the Top 10 list in both 2021 and 2020
- 5 Wins: Yoke’s Fresh Market at 454 Keene Rd in Richland
- 5 Wins: 7-Eleven at 4313 W Court St in Pasco
- 4 Wins: Circle K at 1401 George Washington Way in Richland
- 4 Wins: Circle K at 2105 W 4th Ave in Kennewick
- 4 Wins: Mid-Columbia Grocery at 6409 W Court St in Pasco
Washington’s Lottery recognizes its Luckiest Retailers by dividing the state into seven regions: North Puget Sound, South Puget Sound, Olympic Peninsula, Eastern Washington, Southwest Washington, Tri-Cities and Central Washington. The full list of Luckiest Retailers can be obtained here.
Making a Difference in Washington State
Since 1982, Washington’s Lottery has generated more than $4.5 billion to support several important state programs, including providing much-needed funds for the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account (WOPA). In FY21, WOPA received $185.7 million from the Lottery, enough to pay college tuition for more than 18,000 Washington residents. It also provided approximately 25% of the annual budget for the state’s Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program, which provides critical services to more than 15,000 children at 440 locations across Washington.

Washington’s Lottery is very proud to be a financial supporter of the state’s Early Childhood Education & Assistance Program (ECEAP). The $40 million annual investment the lottery makes in ECEAP has lasting effects. Children who participate in ECEAP are more likely to be kindergarten-ready than non-participants, and those who participate five or more hours per day are especially prepared in reading and math.* Children in state-funded pre-K programs like ECEAP see long-lasting positive effects, including increased grade progression, high school graduation and college enrollment.**
