From August 21 through October 23, 2024, Washingtonians took home 11 prizes ranging from $50,000 to $1 million
Olympia, Wash. (October 24, 2024) – While the $478.2 million Powerball jackpot was won in Georgia last night, Washington’s Lottery today announced that the state saw 11 large Powerball prize winners of its own during the recent jackpot run.
Since the jackpot run began on August 21, 2024, Powerball produced eight prizes worth $50,000 for players across Washington, as well as one $100,000 prize and two $1 million prizes. One of these $1 million prizes was from a ticket sold on October 16 at Island Market in Eastsound and has yet to be claimed. - September 2, 2024 Drawing – One $50,000 prize
- Safeway located at 1109 E Yelm Ave in Yelm
- September 9, 2024 Drawing – One $50,000 prize
- Safeway located at 17202 15th Ave NE in Shoreline
- September 18, 2024 Drawing – One $50,000 prize
- Circle K located at 1915 N Columbia Center Blvd in Richland
- September 21, 2024 Drawing – One $50,000 prize
- Yoke’s Fresh Market located at 4235 S Cheney Spokane Rd in Spokane
- October 14, 2024 Drawing – One $50,000 prize
- Half Sun located at 420 S Wanapum Dr in Moses Lake
- October 16, 2024 Drawing – One $1,000,000 prize
- Island Market located at 469 Market St in Eastsound
- October 19, 2024 Drawing – Two $50,000 prizes
- Chevron located at 1020 SE Everett Mall Way in Everett
- Walmart located at 1965 S Union Ave in Tacoma
- October 23, 2024 Drawing – One $100,000 prize and one $50,000 prize

In addition to Powerball, Washingtonians are winning big across the board. In the last 365 days, more than 36 million players across the state have won more than $539 million in lottery prizes. The first quarter of FY25 alone (July-September 2024) saw 8,578,539 prizes claimed, totaling $137,424,450 paid out to winners.

Winning players have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize. Washington’s Lottery has regional offices located in Everett, Federal Way, Olympia, Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver, which are open to the public to claim prizes Mon-Fri from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Winners with prizes of $100,000 or more are instructed to call the nearest Lottery office to schedule an appointment to make a safe and secure in-person claim.
Who Benefits
Since 1982, Washington’s Lottery has generated more than $5.3 billion to support several important state programs, including providing much-needed funds for the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account (WOPA). In FY23, WOPA received $199.9 million from the Lottery. Of this, $139.1 million helped fund the Washington College Grant, a financial aid program that supported more than 29,000 college students and apprentices across the state last year. Another $2.5 million helped fund the College Bound program to help eligible students attain a college or training degree or credential.

Washington’s Lottery is proud to be a financial supporter of the Washington Student Achievement Council, which administers state financial aid programs. WSAC leads a variety of initiatives to increase educational opportunities for students, families, and educators across the state, with a particular focus on increasing equity by reaching communities of color and students from low-income families. The $141.6 million investment made in FY23 by the Lottery helps fund the Washington College Grant and College Bound programs, in order to improve access to postsecondary attainment for students across Washington.
